November 5, 2024

DaChan Bay Terminals has recently welcomed a new service providing a direct connection between South China and the Middle East.

The unit of Hong Kong-based Modern Terminals Ltd. noted that the service code is SMX/SMX/AIM3/SMX, respectively and will be operated by ESL, Global Feeder Shipping, KMTC, and T.S. Lines.

In addition, DaChan Bay said that the existing GLX/GALEX/AIM service operated by ESL, Global Feeder Shipping and KMTC, respectively, has been enhanced with Ocean Network Express (ONE) joining as an operator with service code GLX.

The two services further enhance the Middle East service network available at DaChan Bay Terminals by offering shorter transit times, expanding coverage in the Middle East, and increasing service frequency.

"We are delighted that DaChan Bay Terminals is the port of choice for these Middle East services. The services provide more choices for exporters to tap into the emerging markets in the Middle East," said Brian Yeung, DaChan Bay Terminals managing director.

The announcement said five vessels, each with a capacity of 3,000 - 4,400 TEUs, are deployed in the new service with a port rotation of DaChan Bay – Port Kelang – Jebel Ali – Hamad – Nansha – DaChan Bay.

For the enhanced service, seven vessels, each with a capacity of 6,600 – 8,500 TEUs, are deployed on the route with a new port rotation of DaChan Bay – Port Kelang – Jebel Ali – Dammam– Bahrain – Busan– Qingdao – Xiamen – DaChan Bay.
