The CS100 will replace the Avro RJ100 on the airline’s short-haul flights and improves Swiss WorldCargo’s temperature-control capabilities, with a front cargo compartment which is fully heated and ventilated.

“Compared to the RJ100, the CS100 reduces carbon emissions effectively, a fact which is often demanded by our customers,” said Ashwin Bhat, head of cargo at SWISS. “This new-generation aircraft from Bombardier guarantees the high reliability and constant level of services within our quality solutions.”

The new C Series also produces 50% less noise than the RJ100.

The CS100 is scheduled to enter service on July 15, 2016, on LX638 from Zurich to Paris Charles de Gaulle.

SWISS also plans to start flying the CS100 to Budapest, Manchester and Prague in July, Brussels and Warsaw in August, and Bucharest, Florence, Hanover, Milan, Nice and Stuttgart in September.
