CMA CGM said in complement to its current set-up of rail intermodal solutions in Malaysia, it is introducing a new rail product to serve the market of Ipoh via Port Klang.
Ipoh, a city in northwestern Malaysia, is home to the first inland port in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
Meanwhile, Port Klang is the largest port in Malaysia and one of the busiest ports in the world.
CMA CGM said in the announcement that the new rail product of CMA CGM is the only one available in the market. It provides excellent connectivity of Ipoh via Port Klang to the world through 54 maritime services.
The new offering also offers service reliability with fixed daily departures and a transit time of less than 1 day.
"To support you on your journey of sustainability, the CO2 reduction is significant," CMA CGM said, with rail transport often noted as one of the most sustainable means to move cargo.
CMA CGM noted that Ipoh Ramp can be reached from Shanghai in 22 days, Antwerp in 38 days and Nhava Sheva in 16 days.
