OOCL TO LAUNCH ANOTHER 6,828 TEU SHIP ON THE TRANSPACIFIC TRADE

Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd. (OOCL) has named its third, brand new 16,828 TEU container vessel "OOCL Sunflower" and announced that the ship will be deployed on the Transpacific trade.
The vessel was named at the Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd., in China and is the third of the series of 10 ordered by the shipping line.
OOCL said "OOCL Sunflower" will serve its Trans-Pacific Trade ECX1 service.
This follows the Hong Kong - Yantian - Xiamen - Shanghai - New York - Savannah - Charleston - Laem Chabang - Cai Mep - Hong Kong port rotation in a 91-day round trip.
The shipping line noted that this series of the latest eco-friendly vessels, each with a capacity of 16,828 TEU, incorporates cutting-edge technology that delivers exceptional intelligence, superior environmental performance, and outstanding operational efficiency.
It is designed to meet and exceed current environmental standards; this series also underscores OOCL’s commitment to sustainability.
