HUNGARY AIRLINES TAPS HACTL FOR HONG KONG FLIGHTS
March 11, 2025

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) — Hong Kong's largest independent cargo handler — will provide handling services for the new freighter operation of the cargo carrier, Hungary Airlines.

The new cargo airline is the first carrier that signed with Hactl for 2025.

The announcement said Hungary Airlines has begun scheduled services between its Budapest hub and Hong Kong, using 62-tonne capacity A330F aircraft.

"Hactl has been appointed to provide a one-stop-shop service for the new Hong Kong flights, covering cargo terminal operations, aircraft loading and unloading, and documentation," it added.

Budapest is a growing e-commerce hub for Eastern Europe. Hungary Airlines is strategically placed to capitalise on the airport's potential, using its new Hong Kong flights as a link between Greater China and the EU.

As more aircraft are added to the Hungary Airlines fleet, the carrier plans to add services to the U.S. and Middle East markets.

"We welcome Hungary Airlines to the Hactl carrier family; their new services further enhance Hactl's global connectivity," said Wilson Kwong, chief executive at Hactl.

"We look forward to supporting their establishment and growth as an e-commerce specialist, which ties in well with our own focus on this important business area," he added.

Hactl serves more than 100 airline companies and 1,000 freight forwarders.

Its base, SuperTerminal 1, is Hong Kong’s largest cargo handling facility, with an annual design capacity of 3.5 million tonnes.

Hactl's subsidiary Hacis provides scheduled road feeder services to/from 9 key points in southern China's important Greater Bay region and operates an E-commerce Fulfilment Centre on-airport.
