QATAR AIRWAYS CARGO LAUNCHES TECHLIFT TO ENHANCE SEMICONDUCTOR TRANSPORT
March 20, 2025

Qatar Airways Cargo has introduced TechLift, a new air cargo solution designed to meet the growing demand for specialized semiconductor transport in industries such as consumer electronics, AI, automotive, and communications.

TechLift aims to address the unique logistics needs of semiconductor shipments, offering advanced protective measures like targeted shock absorption for ground and aircraft equipment.

These measures ensure the safe handling of products such as integrated circuits, microchips, manufacturing machinery, and other critical components.

Mark Drusch, chief officer of Cargo at Qatar Airways Cargo, emphasized the importance of semiconductors in modern technology, from smartphones and electric vehicles to AI and the Internet of Things.

"Nearly every aspect of modern-day life relies on semiconductors ... For all these applications to function correctly, semiconductors must be delivered in pristine condition. Their transport is best carried out by established cargo professionals, as it demands absolute precision, expertise, and highly trained staff," he said.

"At Qatar Airways Cargo, we have perfected every aspect of the transportation for semiconductor products to leave absolutely nothing to chance and have developed a world-leading dedicated service to cater for this," he added.

The TechLift service offers benefits like prioritized loading, weather protection, and the use of approved data loggers.

Customers can also combine TechLift with Qatar Airways' AirPlus Solutions, which include temperature-controlled environments and real-time monitoring to ensure safe delivery.

Qatar Airways Cargo noted that this new product reinforces its commitment to setting high standards in semiconductor transport and addressing the evolving needs of global supply chains.
