BALTIC HUB WELCOMES MULTIPLE NEW SERVICES
March 25, 2025

Baltic Hub, the largest container terminal complex in the Baltic Sea, has announced a range of new services that will begin calling at its facilities in Gdansk, Poland, in the coming months.

Beginning at the end of March, the terminal hub will welcome two weekly calls from Maersk vessels as part of the newly established Gemini Alliance network. Moreover, MSC will introduce two new weekly services in early April.

PSA International — which owns 40% of the terminal — said these new connections will strengthen the Baltic Hub's position as a key gateway for global trade.

The announcement said the first new service is a result of the new 'Gemini Cooperation' between Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd AG, which launched its new ocean and shuttle network on February 1, 2025. Under this alliance, Maersk will operate two weekly shuttles at Baltic Hub, linking Polish ports with the German ports of Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven.

The first ship from this new ocean network, the 294-meter-long Api Bhum, will call the Baltic Hub on March 25.

In addition, MSC will expand its presence in Gdansk by adding Baltic Hub to two of its weekly Asia-Europe services—Britannia and Albatros. The first vessel of the Britannia service, the 364-meter-long MSC Rose, is expected to arrive on April 3, 2025, and the first Albatros vessel, the 366-meter-long MSC Maura, is expected to arrive on April 16, also this year.

In addition to these new services, the long-established AEU1/LL1/FAL5/NE1 service operated by Ocean Alliance of CMA CGM, OOCL, COSCO, and Evergreen and FAL1 operated by CMA CGM will continue their calls at Baltic Hub.

T3 Terminal Expansion

PSA said Baltic Hub will also facilitate the handling of the Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCVs) on these additional ocean service lines with the state-of-the-art STS cranes at its new T3 expansion project that is currently being built on a 36-hectare artificial peninsula, linked to its current terminals.

When fully completed in late 2025, T3 will expand Baltic Hub's capacity by 1.5 million TEUs to 4.5 million TEUs per year, making Baltic Hub one of Europe's largest container terminal complexes.

"As part of our T3 expansion program, we are adding additional yard space and handling capacity, which will help unlock new opportunities for our customers, facilitate greater trade flows across Central and Eastern Europe and strengthen the Polish economy," said Jan van Mossevelde, CEO of Baltic Hub.

Baltic Hub Container Terminal Sp. z o.o. is Poland's largest container terminal and the only deep-water terminal in the Baltic Sea. It connects Asia, the European Union with Poland, and the emerging markets of Central and Eastern Europe and the entire Baltic Sea.

The terminal handles Polish imports, exports, and transit cargo, competing effectively with major ports in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. It has strong land connections to countries like the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary, and Germany.

In 2024, Baltic Hub processed 2.2 million TEUs.
