JETTAINER, AIR ASTANA TO CONTINUE ULD PARTNERSHIP
March 27, 2025

Air Astana will maintain its partnership with Jettainer for Unit Load Device (ULD) management.

Jettainer said the partnership with Kazakhstan's national airline began in 2007 and has been renewed again on a long-term basis.

Air Astana's ULD needs will change in the coming years due to its planned fleet modernization with the introduction of Boeing 787 aircraft.

Jettainer said it will continue to partner closely with the airline as it takes this step and supports it with customized solutions.

Meanwhile, Air Astana is focusing on growth. The Kazakh carrier plans to increase its fleet from 60 to 80 aircraft, including Boeing 787 Dreamliners, by the end of 2028.

Jettainer noted that the planned fleet change will result in a growing and diversified ULD fleet. It will also provide comprehensive support and expertise during the transition.

"We have been working very well and closely with Jettainer for more than 18 years. We are confident that Jettainer's team of experts will continue to help us achieve our growth plans with the innovative and customized ULD services we need to make them happen," said Berik Abdrakhmanov, director of ground services at Air Astana.

Dr. Jan-Wilhelm Breithaupt, chief executive officer of Jettainer, noted that Air Astana's decision to extend its joint contract is evidence of the trust and satisfaction that the company places in Jettainer's services.

"Our customized solutions offer Air Astana the flexibility and reliability it needs to meet increasing requirements and undertake its planned fleet expansion with three Boeing 787s," Breithaupt said.

Jettainer operates more than 110,000 ULDs in 500 locations worldwide. Jettainer GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo AG.
