Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) has announced that MOL will open a new office in Washington, D.C., through its U.S. subsidiary, MOL (Americas) LLC.

As a multimodal shipping company with the world's second-largest fleet, MOL offer logistics solutions with a focus on international shipping.

The Japanese transport company noted that as global challenges continue to evolve, ranging from geopolitical uncertainties and stricter environmental regulations to increasingly intricate supply chains, strengthening cooperation with governments and international organisations has become more crucial.

"MOL strives to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and more effectively serve customers not only in the US but also on a global scale through information exchange and advocacy," it said in an announcement.

"Opening the new office in Washington, D.C., the centre of global policymaking, facilitates the group's outreach to federal agencies, Congress, regulatory agencies, industry associations, and international organisations and embassies that serve as venues for multilateral consultations," it added.
