The Port of New York and New Jersey (Port of NY/NJ) maintained strong growth, with cargo activity growing 6% year-on-year compared to April 2024. 

The port recorded strong activity last month, handling 751,194 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) over the month. 

Port of NY/NJ said this was an increase of 24% from the pre-pandemic performance back in April 2019.

Over the first four months of the year, the Port of New York and New Jersey handled 2,954,913 TEUs. 

This marked a 23% jump from the same period of 2019 and an increase of 9% from the first four months of 2024.
