Saudia Cargo has launched 'Saudia Cargo Global' in partnership with TAM Group to expand into Greater China and Asia-Pacific from its new Hong Kong hub.
The cargo carrier said its landmark joint venture agreement establishes Saudia Cargo Global, a dedicated Hong Kong-based entity that will serve as its strategic hub for Greater China, Asia-Pacific (APAC) and beyond.
Saudia Cargo said the move significantly enhances its commercial reach, service capabilities, and customer engagement in one of the world's most vital trade and logistics markets.
The joint venture also reflects Saudia Cargo's focus on expanding air cargo solutions to support near-term growth in Greater China and longer-term demand across the Asia-Pacific region.
Saudia Cargo said in the announcement that the deal will leverage Hong Kong's position as a thriving cargo hub with immense potential to facilitate trade, particularly amidst the continued e-commerce growth. Saudia Cargo Global will seamlessly link businesses within the region and beyond to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the global marketplace.

Our partnership with TAM Group is a strategic evolution reflecting our long-term dedication to the region and our sustainable global growth," said Eng. Loay Mashabi, chief executive officer and managing director of Saudia Cargo.
"Leveraging TAM Group's expertise and our robust network, Saudia Cargo Global will unlock new opportunities, enhance customer agility, and significantly strengthen regional and international trade through five dedicated freighter hubs," he added, noting that the venture is also aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and is crucial for diversifying its economy, boosting non-oil exports, and accelerating the Kingdom's rise as a global logistics hub.
Dr. Tam Wing Kun, founder and chairman of TAM Group, said the "transformative venture" marks a significant milestone in both companies' longstanding relationship.
"Since 1986, TAM Group has worked hand-in-hand with Saudia Cargo, and this joint venture is a natural next step in our shared commitment to the region's growth," he said. "The Greater China market, with Hong Kong at its heart, is a vibrant, rapidly evolving landscape, and we're confident Saudia Cargo Global will become a dominant force in its air cargo industry."
Tam said the partnership between Saudia Cargo and TAM Group leverages their combined capabilities and regional knowledge to deliver effective logistics solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
"Hong Kong's incredibly crucial position allows us to serve the Greater China region and beyond, including Southeast Asia and key worldwide markets, while also aligning perfectly with the Hong Kong SAR government's initiatives to strengthen ties with the Middle East," Tam added.
Saudia Cargo Global will introduce enhanced services specifically tailored to the diverse needs of the Greater China market, with plans to further expand into APAC. These include optimised freighter operations leveraging Hong Kong's strategic location, advanced e-commerce logistics solutions to capitalise on the region's booming online trade, and specialised pharmaceutical transports meeting stringent global standards.
Saudia Cargo said these complement its portfolio of integrated solutions, delivered with unwavering reliability, security, and customer satisfaction. Meanwhile, TAM Group will bring its deep market knowledge, strong relationships, and proven operational excellence, ensuring seamless local execution under a unified strategic vision.
Saudia Cargo said the partnership supports its efforts to expand its global network and modernize operations.
