Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has launched a new trans-Pacific service to enhance its Asia-Mexico connection.

The new Transpacific Latin Pacific 8 (TLP8) service will follow the Shanghai – Qingdao – Ensenada – Manzanillo – Ensenada – Yokohama – Shanghai port rotation.

TLP8 will commence from Shanghai ETA August 20, 2025.

"To enhance our network coverage in the emerging markets, we are very pleased to launch a new service, Transpacific Latin Pacific 8 (TLP8) in our Asia–Latin America network to strengthen the comprehensive port coverage in the regions," OOCL said in the announcement.

In addition to OOCL's existing loops TLP1/2/5/6, it added that the new service will offer direct connections between China and Mexico, with a competitive transit time of 16 and 20 days from Qingdao to Ensenada and Manzanillo, respectively.
