Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation is expanding its cold chain logistics capabilities to support global fresh fruit exports, offering tailored solutions for time-sensitive and temperature-controlled cargo.
At the recent Asia Fruit Logistica 2025 in Hong Kong, Yang Ming underscored its continued investment in technologies to support the vertical.
The carrier's network connects key production regions—including Chilean cherries, Thai durians, U.S. citrus, and Japanese apples—to major consumer markets. To manage seasonal demand and ensure consistent capacity, Yang Ming adjusts routes and deploys dedicated cold chain and express services aimed at minimizing transit time and reducing transshipment risks.
Yang Ming's refrigerated containers feature IoT-enabled monitoring for temperature, humidity, and location, with real-time alerts and rapid response protocols. The company also uses Controlled Atmosphere (CA) technology to extend shelf life up to 45 days, allowing exporters to reach distant markets without compromising quality.
Ongoing investments in energy-efficient reefer units and a low-emission vessel fleet reflect Yang Ming's strategy to combine freshness assurance with sustainability. The company says it will continue to enhance its cold chain infrastructure and service routes to meet evolving supply chain needs.
