Etihad Cargo, the logistics division of Etihad Airways, has officially launched SmartTrack, a real-time shipment visibility service that provides customers with live updates on cargo location and condition.
SmartTrack is now available globally via the Etihad Cargo website and mobile app, making Etihad the first air cargo carrier to introduce this level of smart tracking technology.
Developed in partnership with Tag-N-Trac, SmartTrack utilizes cellular, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity to deliver instant alerts on temperature, humidity, shock, tilt, and light exposure—ideal for sensitive shipments such as pharmaceuticals and electronics.
The service includes a 24/7 SmartTrack Control Centre and a secure customer dashboard, enabling proactive monitoring, geofence alerts, and real-time intervention across the supply chain.
Etihad Cargo noted that the new customer dashboard offers a single, intuitive interface for shipment monitoring. Accessible via secure single sign-on across mobile and web platforms, the dashboard enables users to track shipments in real time by AWB, origin, destination, or product type; monitor live sensor data and receive proactive SLA notifications; access custody chain insights covering pre- and post-Etihad Cargo handling; and receive instant alerts on milestone delays, geofence violations, and temperature excursions.
"SmartTrack marks a major step forward in the way we support our customers. By integrating simplicity, intelligence, and automation, we are providing greater confidence and control over shipments while setting a new benchmark for transparency in the industry," said Stanislas Brun, chief cargo officer at Etihad Airways.
"This innovation reflects Etihad Cargo's broader vision: to harness digital transformation in order to deliver smarter, more resilient, and more customer-centric logistics solutions."
