GEBRÜDER WEISS SAYS CHINA REMAINS A STRONG GROWTH MARKET
November 26, 2025

Gebrüder Weiss remains confident in China's long‑term prospects, defying concerns over cooling economic indicators, as it reported solid 2025 revenue growth fueled by rapid e‑commerce.

The Austria-based global logistics company painted a different picture of its performance in China despite the cooling of Beijing economy where its GDP grew by 4.8% in Q3 2025, from the 5.2% growth posted earlier in the year. It noted trade tensions with the United States, weak domestic demand and a struggling real-estate sector behind the slowdown.

"The picture looks different for Gebrüder Weiss," it said in a statement. "By expanding its warehousing operations, including specialized e-fulfillment and e-commerce solutions, the company has secured new customers and strengthened its position as a full-service logistics provider. Key industries include automotive, machinery and electronics."

Gebrüder Weiss Greater China ended 2024 with revenues of about €330 million, up 24% from €265 million in 2023. Cross‑border e‑commerce remained strong, with Gebrüder Weiss Express China handling 25 million parcels bound for Europe, the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

It noted that the European Union remains the company's largest market and strongest growth engine.

"Our steady growth underlines the strategic importance of the Chinese market for Gebrüder Weiss and demonstrates how successfully we have evolved in recent years," said Yongquan Chen, general manager of Gebrüder Weiss China.

"We have strong capabilities in air and sea freight, and are equally well positioned in multimodal transport, rail services, and warehouse logistics, where we deliver tailored solutions quickly and with precision."

Gebrüder Weiss has operated in China for over 30 years, starting with its Shanghai office in 1992 and expanding into major hubs. The company recently marked 30 years in Qingdao and 25 years in Beijing, Tianjin, and Ningbo.

Today, the organization includes 19 locations and more than 450 employees in Greater China.

Over the next few years, Gebrüder Weiss China plans to further invest in electromobility and automation with the goal of creating sustainable logistics solutions and innovative services that fuel continued growth.
