ANA HOLDINGS INC. (ANA) has initiated a strategic reorganization of its group-wide cargo business to accelerate decision-making, optimize cost structures and maximize profitability following the integration of Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) in August 2025.
ANA, which acquired 100% of NCA's shares as of Aug. 1, 2025, said the initiative is targeted for completion by the end of FY2026, contingent upon Nippon Cargo Airlines maintaining its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) following the reorganization.
ANA's acquisition of NCA on August 1, 2025, positioned the group as Japan's largest combination passenger and cargo carrier.
Significant operational synergies between ANA and NCA are actively yielding results, including the mutual utilization of cargo space and the successful launch of cargo codeshare flights on key North American and European routes on Oct. 26.
ANA said the upcoming reorganization represents the critical next step, designed to fully leverage this robust foundation to unlock maximum strategic advantage.
"Recognizing the cargo business as an indispensable pillar of the group's sustainable growth, ANA HD has conducted extensive analysis to define the optimal organizational structure to create synergies between ANA and NCA," the Japanese carrier said.
"As a result, ANA HD has decided to begin considering and preparing for the reorganization of group-wide cargo business companies in order to further develop strong foundation," it added.
ANA said the reorganization is targeted for completion by the end of FY2026, with NCA retaining its Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
The carrier pointe out that the global cargo market continues to evolve rapidly, driven by dynamic shifts in supply chain demands.
Leveraging the reorganization will combine NCA's robust fleet of dedicated large freighters with ANA's extensive international passenger and cargo network and the Group's collective resources.
ANA said this integrated approach will deliver efficiency, expand service capabilities and provide greater value to global customers, reinforcing ANA HD's leadership in the air cargo industry.
