AIRFORWARDERS ASSOCIATION HAIL SUPREME COURT TARIFF RULING
February 20, 2026

The Airforwarders Association (AfA) said the Supreme Court's recent tariff decision will provide much‑needed clarity for U.S. companies that depend on international trade.

"Our members have seen firsthand how tariff measures negatively impact shipping volumes, pricing, and supply chain planning, and greater stability in trade policy is critical for the movement of goods," AfA, an industry group representing indirect air carriers, cargo airlines and related logistics firms, said.

The group noted that while this ruling may reduce some immediate cost pressures, uncertainty around future trade actions continues to complicate long-term planning for importers, exporters, and the logistics providers that support them.

"We now need clarity on how any tariff refunds will be processed, including the timeline, administrative requirements, and eligibility criteria, to ensure businesses can plan with confidence and reduce unnecessary costs," AfA said.

The U.S. Supreme Court earlier struck down Trump‑era tariffs after finding they exceeded presidential authority, prompting the former to move quickly to reimpose duties under a different legal basis and announce a new 15% tariff on imports.
