CAINIAO, CP AXTRA PARTNER TO BRING CHINA’S “INSTANT DELIVERY” MODEL TO THAILAND
March 27, 2026

Cainiao Group has partnered with Thailand's CP AXTRA to bring China's fast‑growing "Instant Delivery" model to the Thai market, with the two companies expanding their collaboration to build an integrated online‑offline logistics network powered by AI‑driven supply chain and forward‑fulfillment capabilities.

The Chinese global provider of e-commerce logistics and logistics technology, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the subsidiary of Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Group to leverage its leading digital supply chain technologies, warehouse automation solutions, and extensive experience in overseas warehouse network operations to fully support CP AXTRA in building an integrated online-offline instant retail logistics network across Thailand and ASEAN countries.

Cainiao said this partnership aims to continuously drive the transformation of retail technology and services in Thailand and the broader ASEAN region.

Thailand-headquartered CP AXTRA operates two of Asia's leading wholesale and retail brands—Makro and Lotus's. The company operates in 10 countries and manages more than 2,700 offline stores across Thailand and Asia, supported by a strong and growing online business.

Building on CP AXTRA's deep retail and wholesale experience and Cainiao's AI-driven logistics technology and global warehousing operations experience, the two companies began collaborating on digital supply chain technology in 2023.

Several key systems co-developed by both parties have since been deployed across CP AXTRA business units, helping raise pick-and-pack efficiency at Makro stores by 140% and increasing order processing capacity by more than five times, effectively addressing previous throughput bottlenecks.

This year, on top of continued supply chain digitalization, the partnership has expanded into forward warehouse and fulfillment operations for CP AXTRA in Thailand. Multiple forward warehouse projects have been agreed upon, and several sites operated by Cainiao are already live.

Cainiao said CP AXTRA is committed to becoming Asia's leading retail technology player. The company is continuously strengthening core digital systems such as store-warehouse management, transportation management, and in-store merchandising, while building a forward warehouse network and delivery capabilities to improve fulfillment speed and accuracy.

Going forward, both sides will continue to co-creation in digital supply chain technology, warehouse automation, and forward warehouse network operations across Thailand and the wider ASEAN market.

"I didn't just tour Cainiao's operations—I jumped in. I picked orders, packed boxes, and even got behind the wheel of a delivery truck. What impressed me most is how powerful the systems are, yet how easy they are to use," said Tanit Chearavanont, CEO of CP AXTRA's Wholesale Business.

He noted that with Cainiao's automation and digital tools, CP AXTRA can achieve high efficiency from day one.

"That's exactly what Thailand and the wider ASEAN market need as instant retail takes off. I'm excited to take this partnership to the next level and build a retail-tech and operating model that’s made for our region," Chearavanont added.

Cainiao CEO Wan Lin said the partnership reflects a shared push to modernize Thailand's retail logistics.

"CP AXTRA is driving a major shift in Thailand's retail landscape, and we're proud to be a long-term partner on that journey. Cainiao combines deep logistics technology R&D with proven global network operations—this is what enables us to help partners move fast, scale reliably, and innovate with confidence."

"Together with CP AXTRA, we'll accelerate the build-out of forward fulfillment and smart warehousing in Thailand and expand those capabilities across Southeast Asia," Lin added.
