MAERSK REPORTS NO IMPACT TO VESSELS OR CARGO FOLLOWING SALALAH PORT INCIDENT
March 28, 2026

Maersk says none of its vessels or cargo were affected and all crew are safe after a security incident involving reported drone activity at the Port of Salalah in Oman on March 28, prompting a temporary shutdown of terminal operations.

In a customer update, the carrier said all Maersk seafarers have been accounted for and confirmed that no Maersk‑operated ships or cargo were impacted by the incident, which occurred in the early hours of March 28 and resulted in damage to a terminal crane.

Port authorities evacuated the facility immediately after the explosions were reported, suspending operations across the terminal.

Maersk said the Port of Salalah is working closely with relevant authorities and that the disruption is expected to last around 48 hours.

The company added that it will notify customers if the timeline changes and will continue to provide updates on Middle East developments through its dedicated advisory page.

Customers were encouraged to contact their local Maersk representatives with any questions.
