April 22, 2026

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has announced a new chief executive officer, appointing Frosti Lau Yi‑sau to the role effective June 8, 2026.

Hong Kong's largest independent cargo handler named its new chief executive five months after announcing that its former CEO, Wilson Kwong will be stepping down from the top post in January 2026.

Hactl said Lau has over 25 years of senior leadership experience in the aviation and air cargo sectors, working in markets including Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland, Australasia, Southeast Asia and Southern Africa.

Prior to this appointment, he served as regional general manager, Southeast Asia & Oceania at Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong's flag carrier.

His previous roles at Cathay include regional general manager for the Southwest Pacific and general manager for Cargo Service Delivery, during which he was also director of the airline's subsidiary air cargo terminal.

Hactl said Lau's experience is spread across commercial and operational roles, including digital transformation, partnerships and talent development.

Hactl's Acting Chief Executive, Michelle Choi, said the role demands deep industry expertise and strong digital capabilities as the company prepares for its next phase of development.

"Leading the world's most advanced air cargo handling business demands comprehensive industry experience and strong credentials in digital and technological innovation. We are delighted to welcome Frosti to Hactl, where he will be able to build on the company's long track record of success and reputation for industry leadership, and guide it confidently into the future," she said.

Lau holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Financial Analysis from HKUST Business School, a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London, and a Master of Arts from the University of Hong Kong.
