All Nippon Airways has taken delivery of its first Airbus A320neo.

The airline is the first Japanese operator of the new type.

According to ANA, the A320neo will be deployed on short-haul international routes such as those to China beginning from mid-January 2017.

ANA placed an order for seven A320neos in March 2014. It also has one A321ceo, 26 A321neos and three A380s on order.

The A320neo family has so far received more than 4,800 orders from 89 customers, according to Airbus.
