Air freight volume at Al Maktoum International Airport grew 0.8% year-on-year to 897,998 tonnes in 2016, according to a traffic report released by Dubai Airports.

During the fourth quarter, the airport handled 252,300 tonnes of cargo, an increase of 10.3% compared to the same period in 2015.

DWC currently serves 64 scheduled cargo carriers that fly to 138 destinations around the world and is home to Emirates SkyCargo.

The airport handled 38,671 aircraft movements in 2016, a year-on-year decrease of 5.6%.

Dubai Airports manages both Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport.
