APL has extended its Cargo Assurance offering to shippers who want protection against loss or damage to their cargo while it is in transit.
According to the shipping line, four options are now available, ranging from maximum protection to individualized solutions.

In offering APL Cargo Assurance, we make it convenient for our shippers to enjoy a greater peace of mind, knowing that they are well covered by the most befitting protection plan for their shipments with APL.”
One of the options unique to APL is SMARTcool Assured, which is available for cargo using APL’s SMARTcool cold treatment solution. Costs for a second cold treatment process and/or for rerouting a shipment to its destination are covered if it does not clear phytosanitary inspection.
With the Container Damage Waiver option, shippers can minimize their liability for accidental damage to containers while under their care and control.
Straightforward claims can be settled within 30 days, according to APL.
