CHAMP LAUNCHES VOICE-ENABLED TRACKING
April 19, 2017

CHAMP Cargosystems has introduced the ability to track air cargo shipments using voice commands with Amazon’s Alexa voice service.

According to CHAMP, the new skill for Alexa is called Traxon Air Cargo Shipment Tracking and enables voice interaction with CHAMP’s Traxon Track and Trace application on Alexa-enabled Amazon devices. Users are able to obtain the status of air waybills by saying, “Alexa, open Cargo Trace” or “Alexa, start Cargo Trace.”

“Why do we restrict ourselves to keys, mouse and finger swipes?” said Arnaud Lambert, CEO of CHAMP Cargosystems. “Let’s approach air cargo efficiency from a different angle: voice. This is only the start of our new user experience programme aimed at enhancing the user experience and therefore the efficiency of air cargo.”

The skill is currently available for shipments on Air Berlin, Air Canada, Air France, AirBridgeCargo, American Airlines, Asiana Airlines, Atlas Air, Cargolux, Cathay Pacific, China Southern Airlines, Delta, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, KLM, Korean Air, Leisure Cargo, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Nippon Cargo Airlines, Polar Air, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Saudia, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, Swiss International Air Lines, Turkish Airlines and Vietnam Airlines. More will be added in the coming weeks.

“Last year we have committed to bringing more innovation into the air cargo sector, and we have started to fulfil our commitment to the industry, and are happy to release a voice-enabled air cargo system on Amazon Alexa,” said Wojciech Soltysiak, chief technology and innovation officer of CHAMP. “We are working hard to bring other new technologies, like blockchain, on the market very soon to help increase security and reduce costs within logistics.”

The new Alexa skill is available for free in the German, UK and US Amazon stores, according to CHAMP.
