Ocean Alliance member OOCL is making preparations for its first call at the Eurogate Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven on May 13, 2017.
The first vessel to call at the terminal will be OOCL Tianjin, operating the alliance’s NEU1 service.
OOCL delivered approximately 400 empty containers to Wilhelmshaven with OOCL Europe on April 20, 2017, integrating the terminal into the Ocean Alliance network.
“Preliminary bookings for the month of May are looking good and there is a high demand for equipment,” said Frank Rose, regional group operations manager at OOCL.
According to Eurogate, other shipping lines of the Ocean Alliance have also been carrying out trials.
“We coordinate our processes with each of the shipping companies in the Ocean Alliance to ensure all handling operations run smoothly from the first scheduled call,” said Mikkel Andersen, managing director of Eurogate Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven. “The docking of the OOCL Europe shows that our combined efforts are worthwhile. We are pleased that the Ocean Alliance is undertaking extensive preparations for the new service. This shows commitment to the Wilhelmshaven location and to the terminal’s local and regional customers.”
