Worldwide Flight Services has restructured its senior management team and made several new appointments as part of its ambition to increase its global presence.

 

According to WFS, its Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia regions will be divided into two service product regions: cargo and ground handling.

 

John Batten will lead the company’s cargo operations as EVP of Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, while Will Facey, currently head of network operations at EasyJet, will become
EVP of ground handling operations for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia on August 28, 2017.

 

Barry Nassberg, formerly group COO, has been appointed as group chief commercial officer, reporting to Craig Smyth, group CEO. He will be responsible for leading and coordinating WFS’ network commercial activities.

 

Justin Jaques, formerly VP of Asia and Middle East, will become SVP of group commercial, reporting to Nassberg. He will be based in Roissy, Paris and will focus on global key accounts and major tenders.

 

Catherine Thomas has been appointed as general counsel head of legal. She has 25 years of legal experience acquired in the UK and in France.

 

David Clark has also been appointed as global head of safety and security, while Pedro Garcia has been named chief information officer and Fabienne Bricaud as global head of people.

 

“We have clear strategic goals for the future of WFS and the leadership team we are building will drive this next phase of our expansion,” said Smyth. “In putting this team together, we are combining the existing knowledge and extensive expertise already in the company with new blood as we develop our world class suite of aviation services for our customers through our one global network.”

 

WFS is present at 198 airports in 21 countries around the world, handling 6.3 million tonnes of cargo per year for 300 airline customers.
