WACO Pakistan member WWG Consolidators Ltd. has launched a dedicated cross-border Pakistan-Afghanistan transit desk.

WWGC has signed an agreement with a cross-border transit operator, whose offices are located at the Pak-Afghan borders as well as in Kabul, Kandahar and Mazar-e-Shareef with a dedicated bonded fleet.

“The Afghan transit trail is becoming increasingly important especially taking into account the country’s ongoing major rehabilitation and rebuilding projects,” said Jahangir Raza [right], general manager of supply chain and inbound logistics at WWG Consolidators. “It is a very challenging task, especially in a war-torn country like Afghanistan, but we have witnessed it first-hand – the business potential in Afghanistan is tremendous. We have had great feedback from our partners, and we do believe that continuous partnerships can help us achieve even more.”

The Karachi-based forwarder offers tailor-made solutions such as commercial and non-commercial transit cargo, duty exemption, legalization, security escort and Shipper’s Own Container re-selling and/or disposal in Afghanistan.

Under the Integrated Transit Trade Management Systems project approved by Pakistan’s Executive Committee of the National Economic Council in 2015, the government has said it will set up transit facilities at the country’s borders with Torkham and Chaman, Afghanistan and Wagah, India.
