CMA CGM THEODORE ROOSEVELT CROSSES PANAMA CANAL

The 14,414 TEU CMA CGM Theodore Roosevelt has become the largest ship to pass through the Panama Canal.
According to CMA CGM, the ship is operating the South Atlantic Express Service and began its voyage in Hong Kong. It is due to call at Norfolk Harbor, Savannah, Charleston and New York, where it will inaugurate the newly raised Bayonne Bridge on September 7, 2017.
The Panama Canal was expanded in June 2016 to allow vessels of up to approximately 14,000 TEUs to pass.
CMA CGM Theodore Roosevelt is the latest addition to CMA CGM’s series of ships named after US presidents.
