The ChainPORT Academy, a seminar organized by international port network ChainPORT, has held its second meeting at the Port of Barcelona.

According to the Port of Barcelona, the meeting brought together representatives from the ports of Antwerp, Barcelona, Busan, Felixstowe, Gdynia, Hamburg, Los Angeles, Montreal, Persero and Rotterdam. It aims to offer managers a framework for exchanging knowledge and advanced training, and allows technical experts to provide solutions to similar problems.

The first day revolved around innovation and the environment, and included debates on the role of ports in an increasingly globalized economy and the role of port authorities as catalysts of innovation.

The second day was dedicated to smart ports, while the third focused on the cruise business.

The next Academy meeting will be held in Montreal in September 2018, according to ChainPORT.
