DHL eCommerce has launched a network of ServicePoints in Thailand to enable greater convenience and choice for e-commerce sellers to ship nationwide and for online shoppers to pick up their orders.
According to DHL, e-commerce sellers in Thailand can now drop off their parcels at any one of more than 200 locations and ship to their customers nationwide. Consumers will be able to choose to pick up their orders from the same retail locations in early 2018. More than 1,000 ServicePoints will be launched over the coming months.
“We are extremely positive about the e-commerce growth in Thailand, and have seen fantastic growth since we launched our domestic delivery network in Thailand in 2016,” said Kiattichai Pitpreecha, managing director of DHL eCommerce Thailand. “We will continue to enhance our existing solutions and launch new services to offer greater convenience and choice for sellers and shoppers across Thailand. We are really pleased to now be able to offer parcel drop-off and pick-up locations, all of which are easy to access, simple to use and provide a fantastic customer experience.”
E-commerce sellers on marketplace platforms can register with DHL eCommerce, deposit their parcels and have them processed within seconds. The ServicePoints are designed to maximize mobility for SMEs and micro-SMEs. Customers will receive shipment confirmation via SMS and email. Shipment track-and-trace, cash-on-delivery and shipment insurance services are also available.
“All research tells us that both the seller and shopper want more convenience and choices,” said Pitpreecha. “A ‘one size fit all’ approach just doesn’t work. As such, we will continue to offer more access points and make accessing the rapidly growing online segment easier and simpler.”
DHL eCommerce plans to expand the network with more outlets and payment options, providing greater convenience and an integrated service for sellers.
There are over 50,000 e-sellers on marketplaces in Thailand and up to 20 million visits per day on top marketplaces. DHL eCommerce has entered into a joint partnership with some marketplaces so that sellers can now drop off their parcels at selected ServicePoints or request for pickup.
DHL eCommerce has been operating in Thailand since 2016.
