YTO Cargo Airlines has appointed Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited as its ground handler in Hong Kong.

According to Hactl, it now provides a one-stop-shop handling service for all of YTO’s flights through Hong Kong. The airline recently launched its first international route, flying a newly acquired Boeing 757-200F with a capacity of 30 tonnes from Wuxi to Hong Kong four times a week.

“We are very pleased to have been given the opportunity to assist YTO Cargo Airlines in this important stage of their development, and look forward to creating a successful partnership,” said Mark Whitehead, chief executive of Hactl.

YTO commenced operations in September 2015 and now has a fleet of seven 737-300Fs and a 757F, with more 757Fs arriving this year. It is also planning scheduled flights to the Japan Macau, the Philippines, Russia and South Korea.

YTO Cargo Airlines is the aircraft-operating subsidiary of Chinese courier company YTO Express. The parcel carrier now has the second-largest network coverage in China, after China Post, handling 20 million parcels per day. YTO Express is one of 14 partners that work closely with Alibaba’s Cainiao logistics subsidiary, which integrates multimodal transport suppliers and express couriers across China to achieve seamless delivery of express packages. The Cainiao network now averages around 42 million parcels per day.

“We are very excited about our new services to Hong Kong, marking the beginning of the next stage in our global expansion plans,” said Weijiao Yu, chairman and president of YTO Express. “Hactl’s considerable experience in handling express operators and e-commerce shipments makes it our ideal service partner.”
