Emirates will launch a five-times-weekly flight between Dubai and Santiago on July 5, 2018.
According to Emirates, the new flight will be operated via Sao Paulo with a Boeing 777-200LR, which will offer up to 14 tonnes of belly capacity.
In particular, Emirates expects to transport Chilean exports such as fish, seafood, cherries, flowers and
general perishable goods.
“The start of our operations to Chile underlines our commitment to South America with our fourth destination on the continent and another five flights to Sao Paulo,” said Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline.
Emirates already flies non-stop between Dubai and Sao Paulo with a daily Airbus A380. The airline also flies a daily Boeing 777-300ER between Dubai and Buenos Aires via Rio de Janeiro.
Santiago is the largest city of Chile and accounts for nearly half of the country’s GDP. Chile is also the world’s largest producer of copper, according to Emirates.
The schedule for the new flight is as follows.
