“With the integration of the cargo capacities of Brussels Airlines, the offer for our customers will become even more attractive and even larger,” said Alexis von Hoensbroech, chief commercial officer at Lufthansa Cargo. “Brussels Airlines’ African destinations are complementary to our existing network and thus ideally complement our connections.”

Brussels Airlines’ customers will have access to Lufthansa Cargo’s network comprising approximately 300 destinations in over 100 countries, while Lufthansa customers will gain access to Brussels Airlines’ network from the Belgian capital, particularly new African destinations such as Abidjan, Douala, Entebbe, Kinshasa and Monrovia.

“Lufthansa Cargo has a lot of experience in marketing the cargo capacities of passenger airlines,” said Christina Foerster, CEO of Brussels Airlines as of April 1, 2018. “This cooperation will help us to make even better use of the freight capacities of our fleet. And we, as the European Africa specialist, can add new destinations to Lufthansa Cargo’s offering.”

The airline currently operates a fleet which includes four Airbus A330-200s and six A330-300s

Brussels Airlines becomes the fifth passenger airline whose cargo capacities are marketed by Lufthansa Cargo, adding to Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings and SunExpress.
