Turkish Cargo transported a total of 55,614 tonnes of cargo in February 2018, a year-on-year increase of 37.8%.
According to Turkish, the special cargo segment registered a growth of 52% compared to February 2017. In terms of tonnage, valuable cargo increased by 45%, vulnerable increased by 18%, perishables increased by 64%, temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals increased by 53%, and dangerous goods increased by 50%.
New routes launched by Turkish Cargo so far in 2018 include Taipei, Miami, Toronto, Zaragoza, Houston, Bogota, Liege, Brussels, Muscat, Mexico City and Vilnius.
The carrier also plans to launch freighter flights to Quito, Karaganda, Tokyo, Navoi, Abu Dhabi, Addis Ababa and Misurata by the end of the year.
Turkish Cargo’s network includes more than 300 destinations in 121 countries and offers maindeck capacity to 85 destinations with its fleet of Airbus A300, A330, Boeing 747-400 and 777 freighters.
