According to Swiss, a new twice-weekly flight between Zurich and Colombo will be launched on November 3, 2018, while a twice-weekly flight to Buenos Aires will launch on November 7. Edelweiss will also launch a twice-weekly flight to Ho Chi Minh City on November 15. All of the new flights will be operated by an Airbus A340-300.

“The introduction of these new routes offers great new opportunities for us,” said Ashwin Bhat, head of cargo at Swiss International Air Lines. “This shows the impressive intercontinental footprint of both Swiss International Air Lines and Swiss WorldCargo. In addition to our increased cargo capacity with the arrival of new Boeing 777-300ERs, new destinations allow us to showcase our best-in-class quality and service on a variety of global routes.”

The new routes will add to existing capacity offered on passenger flights operated by Swiss and Edelweiss to Asian and South American destinations such as Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, according to Swiss WorldCargo.
