Pakistani ground-handler Gerry’s dnata has increased its footprint in the country by investing more than US$4 million and launching services at three additional airports.

Gerry’s dnata started services at Multan International Airport (MUX) on May 1, 2015, Quetta International Airport (UET) on June 1, 2015, and Faisalabad International Airport (LYP) on July 11, 2015.

“We have been supporting the aviation industry in Pakistan since 1993,” said Syed Haris Raza, vice president of Gerry’s dnata. “This expansion will help the industry continue to grow and meet the needs of the travel and cargo communities.”

Raza added that the aviation industry in Pakistan is continuing to grow, and that the primary goal is to ensure the smooth handling of flights, passengers and cargo across the country.

“Our new locations add cargo capacity, passenger-handling capabilities and create new jobs – a good thing for the industry and the economy,” he said.

Gerry’s dnata, which will be the largest ground handler in Pakistan, already has operations at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, Islamabad’s Benazir Bhutto International Airport and Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport. It is expecting to expand the staff count in the country to 140 as part of the expansion, according to a statement.
