CHINA AIRLINES SAW CARGO REVENUE UP 64.6% IN H1
July 14, 2020
China Airlines reported that its revenue from freight spiked in the first half of 2020 despite a sluggish start of the year due to the onset of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a statement, the national carrier of Taiwan said its cargo revenue was up 64.6% in the six months to June, although its passenger revenue also declined by almost as much — or 63.8% as demand for travel remains anemic.
For June alone, China Airlines said its cargo revenue was up 82%, while passenger revenue was down by 95%.
