China Merchants Group recently announced top management changes with the appointment of Miao Jianmin as its new chairman.

"On July 10, it was announced that Miao Jianmin was appointed as the new Chairman of China Merchants Group Limited," a statement from CMG said. 

It said the appointment and dismissal of relevant positions will be handled in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

Miao took over the position previously held by Li Jianhong.

Miao previously served as vice president of China Insurance HK (Holdings), vice chairman and president of China Insurance International (Holdings), chairman of Tai Ping Insurance Co. Ltd., president of China Life Insurance (Group) and president and chairman of The People's Insurance Company (Group) of China.

China Merchants Group is a multinational state-owned corporation of People's Republic of China. The company offers freight forwarding, professional logistics, port transportation, and other services.
