JAL: JAPAN REACHES AGREEMENT WITH SG, MALAYSIA FOR INTERNATIONAL SERVICES
September 2, 2020

Japan Airlines (JAL) said recently that the Japenese government continues to be in discussion with governments in Asia to seek lifting of travel restrictions and restart international services.

JAL vice-chairman Tadashi Fujita, said at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, that in particular, Japan is in talks with Vietnam, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand to "relax travel restrictions" and permit services between the countries.

The JAL executive said Japan already reached an agreement with the governments of Singapore and Malaysia regarding the resumption of operations — mainly for repatriation and business travel.

The Japanese government remains in discussion with 10 other countries in Asia, including China, South Korea and Macau for the same lifting of restrictions.
