“We are extremely pleased that SIPG should continue to show support for Konecranes products in such a demanding port environment, which is testimony to the durability of our products,” said Trevor Morris, sales and service director of lift trucks for Northeast Asia at Konecranes.

The two trucks are 16-tonne SMV16-1200 models and are equipped with a strong, box-type chassis, according to Konecranes. They also have stronger tilt fixtures in the chassis and mast, as well as hydraulics capable of detecting the weight of the load and adapting the lifting power accordingly.

According to Konecranes, fuel consumption and noise levels are reduced because the trucks only provide maximum power when it is really needed. The improved wear and tear means that service intervals are between 4,000 and 12,000 hours.

The Luojing Terminal is located in Shanghai’s Baoshan District, at the intersection of the Yangtze and Huangpu rivers. It started operations in February 2008 and has a capacity of 12 million tonnes per year.
