Kerry Logistics has launched its IT Development Centre in Penang to support the growth of its operations around the world.

“The Penang government has played an important role in promoting the IT development of this city, making it one of the preferred Asia technology bases of many international IT giants,” said George Yeo, chairman of Kerry Logistics [fourth from right in photo]. “Establishing our IT Development Centre in this dynamic city will provide us readily available local IT resources, a strong pool of multilingual talents and good infrastructure support.”

Apart from business expansion, the company will also use the IT centre as an offshore support base to share resources among different global offices in order to increase operational efficiency at lower costs, according to Kerry.

Kerry aims to help boost the efficiency and timeliness of its clients’ supply chains by combining IT, big data and operational knowledge.
