Volga-Dnepr Airlines has appointed Axel Kaldschmidt, Fayçal Boumerkhoufa and Colon Miller as global directors for the aerospace, humanitarian and energy sectors respectively to manage the growth of its transport and logistics solutions.
“We have seen sustained growth in these three sectors over man years and have developed strong working partnerships with leading companies and organizations who value our transport and logistics expertise,” said Dennis Gliznoutsa, vice president of sales at Volga-Dnepr Airlines. “Axel, Fayçal and Colon are already well-known and highly respected in their respective sectors. These appointments will enable them to focus their energies and share their knowledge and expertise in a way that continues to add the greatest value for our customers.”
As global director of the aerospace industry, Kaldschmidt [above] will be responsible for a customer base which makes up about 30% of the group’s business. Volga-Dnepr Airlines has operated more than 5,250 flights since its launch, transporting satellites, helicopters, aircraft and parts using its fleet of Antonov An-124-100s and Ilyushin Il-76TDs.
Boumerkhoufa [above] will be global director of oil and gas, a sector which takes up 13% of the group’s business. Cargo transported includes drilling equipment, pumps, power houses, pipeline valves, heat exchangers, compressors and control units.
Overseeing humanitarian, government and defence programmes, Miller [above] will work with customers to transport cargo such as mobile hospitals, medical equipment, water-purification equipment, laboratory containers, generators, telecommunications equipment, trucks, cranes, clothing and food supplies.
The three global directors will be based in Volga-Dnepr’s US office in Houston, according to the company.
