QATAR AIRWAYS TO LAUNCH FREIGHTER FLIGHTS TO HO CHI MINH, BUDAPEST AND PRAGUE

Qatar Airways Cargo will start operating dedicated freighter flights to Ho Chi Minh City, Budapest and Prague in March 2016.

The Ho Chi Minh flight, which will be operated twice a week with an Airbus A330-200F, will transport Vietnamese exports such as footwear, garments and handicrafts, according to the carrier. It will offer 120 additional tonnes of weekly capacity, on top of the airline’s daily passenger flights to the city.

An A330-200F will also fly the Doha-Budapest-Prague route every Thursday and Sunday. Items expected to be carried on the flight include automotive parts, biotech products, electronics, pharmaceuticals and textiles.

 

The addition of these three cities will increase the airline’s freighter destinations to six in the Asia-Pacific region and 14 in Europe.

 

Qatar Airways also recently announced further expansion of its passenger network in Eastern Europe, with new direct flights to Belgrade and the Armenian capital Yerevan, enhanced frequencies to Baku, Budapest and Zagreb, and an upgrade from the A320 to an A330 on the Warsaw route.
