WAN HAI ADDS 2,038 TEU SHIP TO JAPAN-CHINA-VIETNAM SERVICE

Wan Hai Lines Ltd. (Wan Hai) announced that it will be adding a 2,038  twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) ship to its Japan-China-Vietnam service.

 

During the naming ceremony for the vessel — to be called "WAN HAI 293" — the Taiwan-based shipping company said after delivery on March 31, the vessel will join Wan Hai Lines' Japan- China- Vietnam Service to provide efficient delivery service among the corridor.

 

WAN HAI 293 is the 10th vessel in a series of 2,038 TEU containerships built by China Shipbuilding Trading Co., LTD., and Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard Co., LTD. 

The 2,038 TEU series is designed with LOA 175m, deadweight capacity of 23,802 mt on 10.5 m draft, and a maximum cruising speed of 20.66 nautical miles.

 

It also takes energy efficiency and environmentally-friendly aspect into account.

 

Wan Hai noted that all the ships delivered are certified with "Smart Ship" notations by international well-known classification societies.

 

"The new buildings are part of Wan Hai Line's efforts to ensure their continuous pursuit of fleet upgrade in order to provide most quality service to customers," the shipping line added.

 

Earlier, Wan Hai Lines announced that it will expand further on its already extensive Asia and East India network by launching a new weekly service between South China – Vietnam, and East India (CI7).

 

The service will be operated by four container vessels with a capacity of 1,200 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEU).

 

The independent CI7 Express Service will follow the Haiphong – Zhanjiang – Nansha - Cat Lai - Port Klang North Port – Chennai – Vizag - Port Klang North Port - Haiphong port rotation.
