CEVA LOGISTICS SIGNS NEW OMNI-CHANNEL LOGISTICS DEAL WITH SEPHORA BRAZIL
May 5, 2022

CEVA Logistics is further expanding its logistics services in the high-end cosmetic market as it announced a new five-year contract with Sephora in Brazil.

CEVA has worked with Sephora — the cosmetics retailer owned by luxury goods group LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) — in Brazil since 2015 for its 39 retail stores and studios across the country, adding logistics support for the company’s full online service in 2017.

Multi-user distribution, e-commerce logistics

Under the contract, CEVA will now be consolidating and distributing a variety of cosmetic products, such as make-up, fragrances, hair care products, accessories, and body and bath products, including Sephora Collection brand products.

CEVA’s logistics support is managed from two multi-user distribution centers outside Sao Paulo.

The services include inbound, warehousing, eCommerce fulfillment, outbound, and reverse logistics. It said that both facilities are climate controlled to meet Sephora’s strict product efficacy requirements, ensuring all beauty products are stored in precisely monitored conditions.

CEVA said it will manage the Sephora business using its Beauty and Personal Care SMART solution, a dedicated suite of services for the Consumer & Retail industry.

It noted that the solution will allow the storage of products at any regional or national distribution center, organizing omnichannel or mono-channel sales, and then the distribution to stores, trade shows, and wholesalers.

“We fully understand the high service levels and standards that are required by a customer such as Sephora. In order to maintain their reputation, we have focused relentlessly on streamlining supply chain processes and improving efficiency for them to ensure the product is always readily available to meet consumer demand,” said Fabio Mendunekas, senior vice president for contract logistics in LATAM, CEVA Logistics.

João Bittencourt, vice president of finance and operations, Sephora said the beauty retailer pushed forward with its CEVA partnership owing to the logistics company’s  “dynamic and flexible system” which is at par with the cosmetics industry.

“It is with great satisfaction that we announce the new five-year contract with CEVA Logistics. To work with a global logistics company that has the know-how needed has been a major factor in Sephora's development and growth in Brazil in the past few years. We decided to continue this partnership because CEVA has a dynamic and flexible system, able to keep up with the cosmetics market scenario. Besides, after more than six years working together, CEVA has shown its interest and effort to reach Sephora's business goals in Brazil, by helping out on operational progress and development,” Bittencourt said.
