Delta Cargo has tapped Erik Mayer as a general manager of its cargo operations. 

"Erik has an extensive background in warehouse operations, logistics, freighter operations, and project management, as well as airport operations and above-wing customer service," the Atlanta, Georgia-based freight carrier said in its social media announcement.

Mayer ⁠— who has over 25 years of experience in the aviation sector ⁠— appears to have been in the role at Delta Cargo since April according to his own Linkedin profile.

He previously worked for Lufthansa Cargo for 10 years as a gateway handling manager in Los Angeles for 5 years and was also a warehouse and aircraft handling manager in Mexico for another 5 years.

Prior to that, Mayer worked as a project manager at DHL and he spent over 15 years with British Airways in various managerial roles in the US and Latin America.
