CHINA'S ROAD FREIGHT VOLUME DROPS IN THE FIRST NINE MONTHS OF 2022
October 27, 2022
China saw its road freight performance decline in the first nine months of the year as continued Covid-19 restrictions limited cargo volumes through trucks.
In a report by state media citing the Ministry of Transport, the statement said road freight volume fell 4.4% year on year in the first nine months of the year.
About 27.65 billion tonnes of road cargo was also transported during the period.
China's Ministry of Transport noted that in September alone, China's road freight volume topped 3.37 billion tonnes.
"Bucking the overall trend, the northwestern province of Qinghai recorded the biggest increase in road freight volume, up 11.9% year-on-year," the report said.
