QATAR EXPANDS NETWORK BY 14 DESTINATIONS

Qatar Airways has announced the addition of 14 destinations to its network from Doha, including what will be the world’s longest non-stop flight.

In the Asia-Pacific region, Qatar Airways will fly to Auckland, Chiang Mai and Krabi. The Auckland flight, which is scheduled to be launched on December 3, 2016, will be the world’s longest flight and will be operated with a Boeing 777-200LR.

 

The new African destinations consist of Douala, Libreville, Lusaka, Marrakech, the Seychelles and Windhoek. Except the Seychelles, which will be served with an Airbus A320, all of these routes will be flown with 787-8s.

 

As for Europe, the airline will fly to Helsinki, Pisa, Sarajevo and Skopje using A320s, and Nice with a 787-8.

 

The new routes were announced at the ITB Berlin travel fair by Akbar Al Baker, chief executive of the Qatar Airways Group.
