Emirates has made three changes to its commercial operations teams in charge of Africa, the Middle East and North and South America.
Orhan Abbas has been appointed senior vice president of commercial operations in Africa. Abbas joined the airline in 1998 as a management trainee. He was senior vice president of commercial operations in the Americas in 2012 and was appointed senior vice president of commercial operations in Latin America, Central and Southern Africa in August 2013.
Adil Al Ghaith has been appointed senior vice president of commercial operations in the Gulf, Middle East and Iran. Al Ghaith has been with the airline for 17 years, according to Emirates.
Rob Gurney has been appointed senior vice president of commercial operations in the Americas. He was previously divisional vice president of Australasia in October 2014 and senior vice president of commercial operations in North America in 2015.
All three will be reporting directly to Thierry Antinori, executive vice president and chief commercial officer.
“The industry is constantly evolving and we remain committed to looking at new ways of developing our services and expanding our commercial footprint across a number of regions, including Africa, the Middle East and the Americas,” said Antinori. “With an excellent track record in growing our business, I am confident that Orhan, Adil and Rob will excel in their new roles so we stay competitive in a new year of growth.”
