THE Alliance has announced another temporary service suspension, this time for its Transpacific-East Coast route, which reflects current market dynamics.

In a statement, THE Alliance — which consists of Hapag-Lloyd, ONE,  HMM, and Ming — said it will make changes to the Transpacific-East Coast Network by temporarily suspending EC4 service from week 46 and upgrading the existing EC1, EC2 and EC5 service until further notice.

It noted that this is "in consideration of the present market situation."

THE Alliance noted that these enhancements aim to provide customers a frequent and comprehensive service coverage.

The effective sailing will also be announced shortly.

Meanwhile, EC1 will be upgraded with the Xiamen call and will now follow the Kaohsiung – Xiamen (new) – Yantian –Yangshan – Ningbo – Pusan – (Panama) – Manzanillo – New York – Norfolk – Charleston – Savannah – Manzanillo – (Panama) – Rodman – Kaohsiung port rotation.

Similarly, EC2 will be upgraded with a Yantian call and will follow the Qingdao – Yantian (new) – Ningbo – Yangshan – Pusan – (Panama) – Cartagena – Savannah – Charleston – Wilmington – Norfolk – Cartagena – (Panama) – Pusan – Qingdao rotation.

The same enhancement will see EC5 with Charleston and New York WB call to now follow the Laem Chabang – Cai Mep – Singapore – Colombo – (Suez) – Halifax – New York – Norfolk – Savannah – Jacksonville – Charleston (new) – New York (new) – Halifax – (Suez) – Jebel Ali – Singapore – Laem Chabang port call.

In September, THE Alliance also announced changes to its Transpacific-West Coast operations, reflecting current market dynamics.

It temporarily suspended the PN3 service then, until further notice.
